Day 41
I awoke on the patio behind the First Baptist Church in Seminole Alabama. I found an outlet near the front of the building and plugged in my phone to charge. I ate breakfast and stretched. I took a hose shower and changed into clean clothes.
It was 10 am before I was on the road. I started putting in the miles.
By 1 pm I reached a gas station along the 90. They had wifi, so I stopped to do some journaling and upload pictures.
I met Jeremy. He was having a bad day, just lost his job of 2 & 1/2 years. He needed a bungee to hold down his cargo on his harley. It just so happens I had a few. He gave me $5 for them. It was hard to refuse his kindness!
I bought a gallon of water and jumped back on the 90. It was close to 4 p.m.
I put in the miles and I started to feel some discomfort in my knee. I slowed to a slow walk. I couldn’t seem to shake it and decided to rest at a church upon the hill. I was just outside Robertsdale city limits.
Just then Kim walked across the street and asked if I was traveling.
She offered me some sandals! They are really comfortable, she even gave me an extra pair for showers!
Kim also gave me a school lunch to eat for dinner! A turkey and cheese sandwich, chips, two waters, and a Little Debbie oatmeal creme pie! I thanked her.
By this time it was around 5:30 p.m. I decided to call it a day. Bobby at the Bethel Baptist Church gave me permission to camp on the property.
